545 |a Attilio F. Caporiccio was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 17, 1916. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on July 5, 1939 and served until October 9, 1945; he re-enlisted September 30, 1948, and retired from service with the rank of master sergeant on March 20, 1953. Mr. Caporiccio served in the Army Air Corps, the U.S. Army Air Force, and the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War, and was present at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He is a charter member of Hickam Field; served as an armorer, gunnery instructor, and B-17 turret operator with the 42nd Bomb Squadron; and participated in the Pacific campaign.
